Ganesh Chaturthi
was celebrated by the students of Class I A and Class I B on 15th
Sept. 2016 in the Jr. School. There was too much of excitement in the air as
students were dressed in their festive attire. The mythological story of
Ganesh’s birth and how little Ganesh got an elephant head, was explained to
the children with the help of a story and PowerPoint presentation. The 101
names of Ganesha were mentioned along with the significance of his trunk, small
eyes, large ears and various other parts of his body. In the end, the children
enacted the roles played by each family member – Shiva, Parvati, Riddhi Siddhi
and Kartikeya and also sang bhajans (hymns) to please ‘Lord Ganesha’. Prasad (sweets) was
distributed in the end to each and everyone.
