DUSSHERA - FESTIVAL OF VICTORY OF GOOD OVER EVIL
India is known as a land of festivals and celebrations and this festival continues for ten days and Dussehra is celebrated on the tenth day. In fact it is believed that the war between Lord Ram and Demon Ravana went on during these 10 days and Ravana was killed by the hands of Ram on the tenth day.  Today Dussehra is a festival that teaches us to sacrifice our ego, anger and evils and to adopt calm and good behaviour.

Students of Year 2 enacted the entire scene in a special 'Dusshera Celebration' assembly.

Ganesh Chaturthi Celebrations

Ganesh Chaturthi  is one of the important Hindu festivals celebrated throughout India with  great devotion. This day is celebrated as the birthday of Lord Ganesh, the elephant-headed son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Lord Ganesh is the symbol of wisdom, prosperity and good fortune.

Ganesh Chaturthi was celebrated by the students of Class I A and Class I B on 15th Sept. 2016 in the Jr. School. There was too much of excitement in the air as students were dressed in their festive attire. The mythological story of Ganesh’s birth and how little Ganesh got an elephant head, was explained to the children with the help of a story and PowerPoint presentation. The 101 names of Ganesha were mentioned along with the significance of his trunk, small eyes, large ears and various other parts of his body. In the end, the children enacted the roles played by each family member – Shiva, Parvati, Riddhi Siddhi and Kartikeya and also sang bhajans (hymns) to please ‘Lord Ganesha’. Prasad (sweets) was distributed in the end to each and everyone.
